You know, life is rough. Why no one tells you this as a child I will never know. You'd think you would or could adjust to it but life is never forgiving and always throwing crap at you! I've had a rough patch in figuring out how to deal with it all but with a good therapist who taught me how I look too often at the negatives and generalizing the one negative to so many other aspects, I'm doing so much better now. I'm going to miss my therapist who at this point I'd use every 6 weeks or so to vent to. We have a new insurance and this group will not accept our new insurance :(
My biggest problems in life right now are people and my kids LOL At least I have my husband :)
I live my days so irritated with other people and being afraid to speak my mind because what I have to say is always offensive. I am a conservative who loves my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I'm so tired of living in a city overflowing with liberal union morons. That's not nice but it's how I feel. Most of these idiots haven't a clue!! The funniest thing about it is money. They want all this "stuff" but they don't want to pay for it. They want the government to pay for it. Where the hell do they think the government gets their money? From us you idiots. WE pay for the roads and buildings, teachers and police, schools and programs etc. We pay for it in one way or the other. Taxes or fines, paying for your own benefits so the tax payer's money isn't and can go for other things like the roads and buildings, teacher's pay and police, schools and programs etc.
They want to fire politicians for doing their job in a way they don't like but they agree with and back politicians who don't do their job and live immoral lives. They don't ask for the truth they ask for the politicans to give them what they want however they need to do it. They live with their head in the sand instead of seeing what is right in their face. Come on, you're going to pay for that new expressway, why do you care how? It's either coming out of your pocket or your pay check... taxes, fines... They don't want programs cut but they don't want to pay more either. How the hell are they supposed to fund the programs you want if you and your fellow American's don't put up the money? Are they supposed to use monopoly money? Well the people voted to not allow monopolies so that won't work either!! They want the big businesses to pay well where do they think that money comes from? The big business will pay right after they raise the prices on the "stuff:" you love so much that you can't afford to go shopping anymore. And they can cut your wages to make up the deficit.
My goodness people, use your God given brains. Oh wait, you probably don't believe in God so you don't have a brain right?
Now it's the holiday season and Christmas is just 13 days away. They are using those big business credit cards to buy all that stuff so they too can be in debt just like the government... SMART people, smart!!

iPhone
So I wonder if I can keep this going better now that I have my iPhone?
Joey is 6yrs old and in Kindergarten. He is doing very well, so much better than last year!! He lost his first tooth this past Sunday (10/2/11) and was super excited. The tooth fairy gave him a whole $5!!

Been FOREVER
To say that life has been busy is such an understatement that it's laughable!! 4 kids keep you on your toes but I think 4 little boys is a whole other story. I'll try to do a quick update here since Melissa asked for it :)
Joey: Joey is 5 1/2yrs old now. He started Kindergarten in September, 2010 and he loves it. However I didn't listen to my very knowledgable friend who told me not to put him into school yet due to his summer birthday and boys especially not being as mature as girls. Joey's had a rough time of it in school. His speech delay has been a HUGE issue for his academics. He didn't start off well with his teacher refusing to use Joey as his name instead of his "legal" name. It affected him mentally and emotionally. He hated being called James and felt badly that no one respected his wishes to be called Joey. I felt really badly about it myself that I was so ignorant to give him a name we had no intention of using. Made things that much more difficult for my baby.
In December when he turned 5 1/2 he made a huge turn for the better. His "F" sounds finally after over a year started to come in and it's made a huge difference. It's very hard to understand counting when you can't say the dang words. Now that he can say (better) Four, Five, Seven, Fourteen, Fifteen, Seventeen.... it's much better. Regardless, he's no where ready to move forward to the 1st grade and even if he was I feel that he'd always struggle to be an average student. So in February I'm having a meeting with all the essentials at school to discuss having him repeat Kinder again next year. Without explaining to him anything I asked who he wanted for a teacher next year and he immediately said he wanted the "other" kinder teacher so I hope that's how it will work for him.
Joshua: Joshy just turned 4yrs old on Friday. He's such a big boy, so mature for his age and so very smart. He's got some speech delay as well but as of right now it's not hindering him as much as it could. He's in a Early Childhood class and loves it. He's with 4K's and is thriving. I've already signed him up for 4K at Joey's school and I should find out soon the ins and out of it.
Josh is a huge helper around the house. He LOVES to pick up his room and the living room and wherever I need help he's usually willing to help. He's had a behavior issue but it's getting much better with age. He truly adores all his brothers. I feared for awhile that Jon would be his own friend but he's loving Joey now too :)
He's been going to my friend's house often when I need help getting him to school when I have a doctor appointment or something. He loves going over there so much, asks to go all the time, but is so shy that it's taken him months to open up and actually talk. He is a character, no doubt about it.
Jonathan: Jonny is a 2yr old handful and such a lover. He's taken after all his brother's bad habits (ie throwing toys at brother's heads, pushing down, hitting, screaming, messy tantrums....) but when that kid is good he is GREAT! I love how much he loves to cuddle and OMG the tight hugs around the neck are to die for! He's been getting speech therapy here at home every other week but that's coming to an end soon as he turns 3 in April. So we're getting ready to have an IEP meeting and get him placed into a EC class starting in April then following though to next fall. I fear he won't qualify though as his speech has taken a huge leap in the right direction. But if he can get into an EC class, that's just free preschool for us! I have been taking him to a 2yr old mommy and me preschool class but since I don't have reliable sitters for Josh/Jack while we do this, he's missed more classes than he's attended :( Really disappointing to me but nothing I can do about it.
Jackson: Oh my baby Jack. He's been a handful with not gaining weight as he should be. Difficulity in getting him to nurse or take a bottle much less being fed. No he was a PITA to be truthful. His caloric intake was so low he wasn't developing physcially either with sitting up, crawling etc. But oh man, once that kid got it in his mind to do it he did it! We had a physical therapist come and she had a magic wand or something. Every time she came she'd get him to doing something new. 6 weeks later she was done, met all her goals... He was much slower to walk than the other boys, waiting until 14months to take his first independent steps but he's doing wonderfully. He still falls all the time and poor baby has two huge bruises on his face from Thursday when he was trying to bend over and pick up a toy, lost his balance and went face first into the radiator at the doctor's office.
Back in December he became my 2nd child to ever get an ear infection (Josh was the 1st and only at that point) and then to really seal his fate he got another one on Friday!!! He presents different than other kids I guess, he gets a fever with diarrhea and diaper rash LOL He's doing much better today, the antibiotic is working well.
He's a very mature baby and I do mean baby. He's much more baby today than I rememeber the other boys at this age. He's only got 7 teeth so far (4 on top and 3 on bottom) and he loves to cuddle with mommy and while sucking his left thumb. I love that he's been so much baby for so long just in case he's my last.
Yes we're going to try for a 5th baby. Is it bad to admit I'm secretly (well not so secret now when I publish this) hoping for twins?? Just then I'll have my 6 kids (even number) without having to have kids past 40. Yes I'm 39 years old now. My last year in my 30's. I didn't think it would bother me seeing as how I do have a wonderful life, 4 beautiful sons and a hard working husband. A house of our own, great school for the kids etc... But it is bothering me already. I'm not ready to be 40. I can't be that old, my kids are so young yet!
I'll get some pictures uploaded tomorrow....

Last day of summer/Last day of life as I know it
I don't know how to begin to explain how I'm feeling. My baby, my first born baby, starts school tomorrow. He's going to a full day Kindergarten. I have to drop him off before 8am and pick him up at 2pm. I will be dropping him off and picking him up (and subsequently his brothers as well) over the next 15yrs, 5 days a week, Sept-June!
Tonight is his open house.
I'm so excited and yet I have knots in my stomach. I'm not ready to let my baby be away from me all day long while at the same time I'm looking forward to the break it gives me during the day and the schedule it will force me into. I'm praying the schedule will make all our lives easier and better all around.
Josh's open house was yesterday. We got to see his classroom and clarify a misconception I had. They told me they had an integrated 4K classroom and I thought that meant that if the 4yr olds in the 4K needed services it was available to them. I didn't realize that the EC class and the 4K were in the same classroom! Basically then the 3's are in 4K also! I'm so excited about that, that Josh will be around the 4K type of environment! He also has a friend in his class. They are playing soccer together on Saturday as well this fall. I really liked the first impression of this school over the one that Joey went to. It sure makes a difference when a building is built in the 20th or 21st century!! Dark and dreary versus light and airy. Josh starts on Friday and goes 4 days a week for 3hrs. I'm not quite as nervous about him maybe because I've done the preschool before?
Jackson, my baby Jackson. He's so tiny at 10mos old. He's more like a 3 or 4 month old still. But he's emerging as a toddler. He's sitting up by himself and crawling on hands and knees and.... pulling himself to standing as well! He learned all this is just a month and a half's time from starting PT with him. He was, I guess, just slow to get started.
He's still not gaining weight but I think we're going to be turning that around now as well. He finally took a bottle of formula from me yesterday. He has been nursing horribly recently and yesterday I noticed he didn't have wet diapers so I made him 4oz and put it in a bottle as I couldn't find his sippy cup. He took it without much persuasion. I made 8oz more and he took 2oz of that and the other 6oz for dinner. He slept though the night with a full tummy too. I will continue to nurse in the mornings and once more though the day but he NEEDS that formula to gain weight. He is 10mos old and 14lbs 2oz wearing 3-6mos clothes. Length is better in some 6mos sizes but he's so skinny, too skinny in the waist for them.
My Jon is my only constant right now. No huge changes with him other than his speech/vocabulary is coming along nicely. He's expressing his needs much more often in words and oh he can be so compliant I love it! Frequently I hear "All right" out of him. So much better than the usual "NO" you get at this age! LOL Not that he always listens but he's a very good boy most of the time. The screaming he does is going to kill his father but other than that and some spitting issues he's a great kid!
I'll have pictures soon.... (gotta find my camera as usual)

Safety School Video
Joey demonstrating stop/drop/roll for Officer Friendly at the graduation demonstration.
misc pictures
Jonny insisted on peeing in the toilet. He didn't go (I think he went in his diaper first then asked to sit on the toilet) but he sat on the toilet and that's a huge accomplishment as he's always been afraid of it!
Moldy feet? Sure looks like it doesn't it? Nope, it's marker????? Don't ask, I've not a clue! LOLWhere's Jonny??
There he is!
Joey and Jack at Grandma's house.. when Jack was doing his first clapping.
Enjoying the jump house at daddy's reserves family picnic.
Joey and Officer Friendly (Walsh). Joey was graduating from his week in safely school.
Cracking the whip
I started taking a parenting class a few weeks ago. I saw a flyer for it and called to inquire. It's technically the class one would take when the courts order it so you can keep your kids or get them back. I told the woman why I was wanting to take it and she said it could do me a lot of good so come on in and give it a try!
The reason I wanted to take it was Joshy was kicking my rear on a daily basis with his bad behavior. It seemed like nothing I did for discipline worked. He would literally come off a time out and go immediately back to what he was put on time out for!
At the first class we had to take an assessment. Wow, what validation I received! The 2nd class, after she'd scored the assessment she told me that I tested better than any other person she's ever tested, even better than her own score (she's like Carol Brady, three hers, three his for a total of 6 in the household). Boy did that make me feel good.
The next class we had to hand in homework, the family rules. I made mine more for the adults to be able to follow. It gives the rule, how many warnings they may or may not receive, the discipline and restitution. She shared it with the class as to how excellent it is (though not kid friendly) to help keep us consistent. I've always said our problem is lack of consistency. While discussing this she told the class that I am a really good parent, I know what I'm doing and what needs to be done. My problem is that I've been inconsistent and I know it. Once I get consistent, things will fall into place. Wow, what a great feeling. I might add that this is a small class and all but one person is there on their own accord for reasons such as my own (wanting to better themselves as parents and/or get ideas on how to handle a situation that is not getting better).
Anyway, last week I was cleaning the house and after I cleaned a huge mess of dirty out of the bathroom (they play in the dirt then get it all over the bathroom when they go to wash their hands/face) they messed it up again with dirt and water all over the floor. They took out all my towels and wash clothes from the cabinet and had them all over the dirty wet floor.
They were made to clean it all up, all three of them and then go on their time outs. I took pictures of my slave labor :) LOL
